Nearly 70% children, over 60% women in Haryana detected anemic

People residing in Haryana state are known for having healthy diet as compared to other states in the country. According to a recent National Family Health Survey report nearly 60% women in Haryana have been found suffering from shortage of blood in their body. Similarly, more than 70% children in age group between six months to six years too were found anemic in the state which is a matter of deep concern. However, a relief as regard availability of blood in their body was observed in case of male adults during present survey as compared to the survey report in year 2015-16.

According to National Family Health Survey Report 2020-21 maximum shortage of blood in body was observed in children of age group between six months to six years due to non-availability of nutritive diet in the state, whereas 60.4 % women were found in the state having less than 12 gm blood in their body whereas at the same time large number of females in state are participating in commonwealth and Olympics games bagging medals for the country.  However, in case of men the situation is bit satisfactory since only 18.6% male youths between age 15 and 49 were found having less than 13 gm blood in their body which included 29.9% youths  having less than 13 gm blood.
