NEW DELHI: A Delegation of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) filed a complaint against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the gross violation of the child rights, as a female child was made to extol the achievement of the BJP’s at Gujarat and asked the Election commission to take a note.

DPCC president Anil  Kumar said that  the Election Commission of India’s guidelines make it clear that no child should be asked to campaign for any political party during elections, but the BJP ignored  this directive with impunity with Prime Minister Modi encouraging such illegal acts. DPCC president said that he was hopeful that the NCPCR will take cognizance of the Congress complaint and issue notice to the concerned people responsible for violating  Child Rights.

Anil Kumar, in his complaint to the NCPCR, said the child was apparently tutored beforehand to campaign for BJP in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which would have created mental stress on the little girl. He said that if an impressionable child was  forced to make such speeches, it would  impact the free thinking of the child, which would create many psychological complications when the child grows up, affecting her outlook to life, her surroundings, and the people and community around her.

He also said that the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights emphasizes the principle of Inviolability of Child Rights, and recognizes the tone of urgency in all the child-related policies of the country, whereas the policies define priority actions for the most vulnerable children.
