Vigilance Sleuth begins value assessment of properties belong to former Deputy CM Punjab

Amritsar, January 30 – Vigilance Bureau has started assessment of all the properties of former Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Mr. O.P. Soni here today.

Confirming about the assessment of value of all the immovable properties including residential and commercial, SSP VB Varinder Singh said, “All the properties standing on the name of O.P. Soni being assessed by the team of VB. In this connection today VB sleuth today started assessment of his palatial farm house at D.R. Enclave near the Airport including one of the luxurious hotels located in the heart of the city. Thereafter, VB would start its next course of action by summoning Soni to join investigation”.

Earlier, last year, Soni had appeared before the VB in Amritsar and joined investigation and before leaving the office he had promised to give the all details of his moveable and immovable properties which was yet not shared with VB .  He was summoned in  an alleged disproportionate assets case.

Earlier there was an anonymous complaint with VB against the Soni for amassing huge property by using wrong means during his tenure as cabinet minister in the previous government of Congress in Punjab.

It was said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann gave a nod to the VB for probing alleged disproportionate assets, which were beyond Soni’s known sources of income. The VB had reportedly prepared a list of his assets and income from the year 2017 to 2022.
