AMBALA: Addressing media persons here at his camp office Haryana’s Health Minister also Home Minister in the state Anil Vij said that dress code policy has been introduced in all government hospitals across the state with immediate effect and those not following the dress code will not be allowed hospital duty and considered absent from the duty, besides liable for strict action. He said, the patients visiting hospitals get confused to find out the hospital staff considering them also a patient. He strictly warned that no jeans, t-shirts and palazzos, heavy make -up, long nails, or heavy jewellery, slippers, unusual hairstyles or unconventional haircut will be allowed in all government hospitals in the state.
Vij said that ne dress code system has been announced by ruling state with immediate effect in all government hospitals to be implemented for the doctors as well as other hospital staff all over in the state will be applicable to the staff working in all government hospitals and health facilities centres in the state. He said, the dress code mentioned in the policy is applicable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including weekends, evenings and night shifts, Health Minister said that the policy has been designed with a purpose to maintain discipline in government health centres since Jeans in any colour, denim skirts and denim dresses are not considered professional dress and will not be permitted in hospitals.
Health Minister said that Sweatshirts, Sweatsuits, shorts, Slacks, dresses, skirts and palazzos, T shirts, Stretch T- shirt, stretch pants, tight fitting pants, leather pants, capri, hip hugger, sweatpants, tank tops, strapless or backless tops, crop top, top shorter than waist line, tops with low necklines, off shoulder blouses, sneakers and slippers, extreme dress styles, hair styles, heavy jewellery, heavy make up, long nails during working hours are not permitted in dress code in government hospitals. Vij said, name of the employee with designation shall be mentioned on the dress and it is mandatory for hospital staff to wear name plates. The dress for males will be black pants with white shirt with name plate on it shall be worn by any trainee of the respective designation except for the nursing cadre. According to the dress code, footwear must be black, He said, every employee is expected to wear neat, clean dress while on dutyand practice good hygiene which provides n elegant image of an organization among the public. A neat, clean, well-groomed appearance is an indication of job, occasion of duty and the purpose of the dress code policy to maintain discipline, uniformity and equality among staff, Vij said.
