Belgavi (Karnataka) : Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, at his first rally in Karnataka since the Bharat Jodo Yatra announced that the party, if voted to power in the coming assembly elections, will pay Rs 3000 unemployed graduates a month and Rs 1500 to diploma holders per month for two years.
Rahul Gandhi addressing huge gathering at “Yuva Kranti Samavesha “ , a youth convention in Belgavi , he said, his padayatra from Kanyakumar to Kashmir sent out a message that the country belongs to everyone and not just a select “ two or three” and certainly “not Adaniji’s alone”. During youth convention , He along with party president Malllikarjuna Kharge, KPCC President D K Shivakumar , Opposition leader Siddaramaiah and other leaders unveiled “Yuva Nidhi”, the party’s fourth election promise in Karnataka.
Gandhi said, while urging people to vote for Congress. “The Congress government will also provide employment to 10 lakh people in the state and 2.5 lakh vacancies in the government will be filled”. The decision to provide an allowance he said “ concerns raised by Youth during the bharat jodo yatra, “We understand your (youth) problem and that BJP are not providing jobs”. he added.
Congress had earlier announced 200 units of gree electricity for all families (Gruha Jyothi scheme), Rs 2000 per month for the woman head of the family (Gruha Lakshmi) and 10 Kg free rice for BPC families (Anna Bhagya).
Meantime ruling Bjp Chief Minister Bommai said,” Congress promise of a monthly stipend to unemployment youth is a bogus scheme. Congress made similar promises in four other state, but it is yet to be fulfilled”. On Rahul Gandhi announcement for unemployed youth , state BJP issued statement that Karnataka has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the entire country.
