Two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants escape from police custody in Kashmir

Two militants, who were involved in a grenade attack on a wine shop in  North Kashmir town of Baramulla on May 17 last year, have escaped from police custody. Officials said on Wednesday. 

The militants have been identified as Maroof Nazir and Shahid Showkat, both members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). 

They were arrested on May 19 last year and were lodged in the Baramulla police station. 

According to an official, the militants escaped during Sehri time, and security forces have launched a massive search operation to apprehend them.

A case has been registered in this regard, and efforts are underway to nab them.
