BSF Shot down drone carrying narcotics near Indo-Pak border in Amritsar

Amritsar, April 27 – Border Security Force ( BSF) have shot down a drone carrying narcotics which was brought from Pakistan to Indian territory.

In a statement issued here today, official stated that on April 27,  at about 0220 hours, BSF troops deployed at Indo-Pak border, heard buzzing sound of a drone entering from Pakistan to Indian territory, in the area near Village – Dhanoe Kalan, Distt – Amritsar.

As per the laid down drill, troops immediately reacted to intercept the drone by firing. The troops deployed in the depth area also heard the sound of drone and dropping of consignment in the farm fields on the outskirts of Village – Dhanoe Kalan in the Amritsar district, said official.

During initial search of the area, BSF troops recovered a black coloured Drone (Quadcopter, DJI Matrice 300 RTK) in partially broken condition and a big packet wrapped with yellow adhesive tape containing 02 packets of suspected heroin and 02 small packets of Opium. One iron ring was also found attached with the consignment.

Official further informed that the Gross weight of the two packets of heroin was 2 Kgs and that of Opium was – 170 Gms.
