Protesting senior Congress leaders while on march surrender to police

Karnal: The Yuva Adhikar Yatra led by recruitment activist Sweta Dhull along with senior Congress including  former HPCC president Kumari Shelja a former Union MInister and Rajya Sabha member, National Congress Secretary Randeep Surjewala and Karan Chaudhary Congress MLA started their protest march from Kurukshetra concluded at Ambedkar Chowk wanted to gherao the chief minister’s residence were intervened by the police did not permitted to merch towards CM house. Congress leaders had  joined the protesting march on National Highway 44 near Uchana village and reached Karnal’s Ambedkar Chowk where they started heading towards CM’s residence to hold a protest. Police managed to stop a protesting rally including Congress leaders along with their supporters and detained them and taken to the  police station. The Congress workers accused the police of misbehaviour and said that they were pushed back and not allowed to enter the Civil Lines police station along with their senior leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, Krmari Shelja thanked youths for joining the protest rally saying that they will not allow the ruling  government to suppress the voice and rights of youths in the state. Randeep Surjewala said this is a do-or-die fight between the unemployed educated youths and the anti-people government in the stat. He alleged the government betrayed lakhs of unemployed youths in the state who qualified the common entrance test (CET) examination by not giving them a chance to appear in the main examination. Kiran Chaudhary said they will take the issue to the state assemb. Addressing the gathering, Sweta Dhull said the main motive of this protest march was to raise concerns of 3.25 lakhs youths in the state who had already passed the qualifying exams but now the government was twisting the rules and allowing only four times more candidates against the vacancies. She said the protest is being organised to demand the government to allow all qualified candidates to appear in the main exams of the Haryana Staff Selection Board.
