Developing IMT at Ambala City was, and will remain my dream project: Vinod Sharma

Ambala: “Developing an Industrial Model Township (IMT) at Ambala City was my dream project when I was MLA Ambala for a decade, which remained unfulfilled due to a group of political leaders from political parties in opposition in the area, who opposed the same for their self-vested political reasons,” while talking to the media persons the former Union Minister and MLA Ambala City Vidhan Sabha constituency twice Vinod Sharma said that in case proposed IMT for which approval for the project was sought from the government would have been set up in Ambala City for which process for the acquiring nearly 400 acre land facing on Chandigarh as well as Naraingarh road was going on, if completed nearly 25000 unemployed youths of the area would have been able to get employment opportunities, but also the town had lot of prosperity due to entry of new industries in the area.

Vinod Sharma was in the town on Saturday and visited nearly a dozen villages adversely affected by the recent floods at Ambala, where he was warmly welcomes by huge gatherings. Sharma said, in 2011 when he was MLA  at Ambala City his dream project for developing IMT at Ambala City was approved by the government but the proposal could not be digested by a handful of political leaders of opposition political parties and they started opposition, as such the same was to be dropped, which not only adversely affected the prosperity of town as well as industrial growth in the area, besides thousands of unemployed youths in the area wre deprived of their rights for getting employment.
Talking to media persons, former Union Minister Sharma said that developing IMT in Ambala was and will remain his dream in future also. He said he was blessed by people in the area who elected him twice when he attempted for a maximum number of BPL cards for families living below the poverty line and also constructed residential houses for low income group families. Sharma said, he has not done favour to any one, but performed his duty sincerely for the people of his constituency when he was MLA in the area, and if given a chance again he will complete all pending jobs for the welfare of the people. Information also reveals that Sharma along with his son also a Rajya Sabha member performed a large number of social welfare activities in the area when people were suffering from KOVID epidemic outbreak in the state as well as during recent floods in Ambala, besides organising medical camps and free supply of medicines to the sufferings
