More than 50000 vehicle registration files are hanging due to clerical staff strike in Haryana

According to information, more than 50000 vehicle registration files in Haryana state are hanging without action in vehicle registration offices in the state due to 42 days strike by the clerical staff which has now been ended. As a result of strike large number of vehicles including several vehicles purchased from the other states plying on roads with temporary registration number with no fault of the owners of such vehicles. The owners of vehicles expressed surprise over 3% late fee demanded by the registration staff in SDM offices as well employees in Saral Kendar, when asked by the buyers of such vehicles applied for the registration  they were told told that there is no guideline on the portal in their computer software so far from the government authorities in this regard as such all requests for registration of the vehicles came to halt due to demand for 3 % amount towards fine as late fee.

According to employees of ‘Saral Kendar’ centres in the area, they expressed their limitations in this regard and said they are bound to charge 3% late fee as per sofware on the portalal after 28 days till fresh guidelines are received from the state government. When questioned Darshan Kumar  SDM Ambala City he said, there is no guideline from higher authorities so far. Vehicle owners said that they are unable to take their vehicles in other states without registration number and are being severely harassed. Moreover, there is heavy rush at the registration counters in SDM offices in the state as well as Saral Kendars and helpless consumers are compelled to move from one table to another helplessly feeling harassed.
