New DGP in Haryana state police department Shatrujit Kapur has warned all corrupt police officers as well as staff in Haryana state to remain alert and sincere to their duties since a large number of them are in his hit list and their properties made with illegal money may be attached by the government. Kapur while working in his previous post of Director General Anti corruption Bureau in the state had arrested a large number of senior officers allegedly involved in corrupt practices and pushed them behind bars. Aiming to clean the police department in the state, he warned all police employees in the state to leave illicit practices, otherwise be prepared for action against them as per the green signal by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Home Minister Anil Vij.
DGP Shatrujit Kapur after joining the new assignment has already organised meetings with senior police bureaucrats at Gurugram, Rohtak and Faridabad and told them that corruption by police employees in the state will not be tolerated at any cost. Information reveals, Kapur while holding the previous portfolio of DG Anti Corruption Bureau in the state during past one year registered 246 corruption cases in which 27 senior gazetted officers, 166 government employees and 27 private persons were arrested allegedly involved in corruption in 170 about raids and on an average 18 government employees and officers were arrested every month involved in corruption in the state.
DGP Kapur said that among his priorities in present assignment special focus on safety as well as security for females in the state and wipe out criminal activities against females completely from the state, have zero tolerance policy against corrupt officials and staff, against whom strict measures wil be adopted and action may be taken to attach their illegal propertie. Kapur made an appeal to the people in the state to make complaints to Anti Corruption Bureau at Toll Free Number 1800 180 2022 in case of having any information in this regard. Kapur said that he will try his best to wipe out drug smuggling from Haryana state.
DGP Kapur said that in order to strengthen the police network in Haryana state since 2015, as many as 33 Women police stations were set up in the state to provide relief regarding crimes against women. He said, 21437 male and female police constables were recruited and 200 Women Help Desk were established in the state. DGP assured that all cases of rapes and gangrapes registered in the state will be referred to the Fast Track Courts at Faridabad, Gurugram, Panipat, Sonipat and Nuh in the state for quick and stern action against the accused. Kapur said that in order to curb human smuggling cases in the state as many as 22 anti-human smuggling units are working in Haryana which have saved 19496 missing females and children from the grip of smugglers and handed over to their families. He said, in order to control cyber crimes 29 cyber crime police stations, three cyber forensic laboratories and a Helpline Number 1930 has been set for quick action against the criminals.
