Four including FSL Deputy Director booked in corruption case in Haryana

Karnal : State Vigilance Bureau (SVB) Haryana  has registered a corruption  case against four persons including Dr Anita Deputy Director of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) at Madhuban in Karnal district allegedly demanding amount worth Rs 11 lakh in view of a tender for amount Rs 6 lakh for the purchase of one crore DNA PCR kits, Among others against whom case has been registered include  Neeraj Gaur director of a private firm  Mygen Life Solution Company Delhi and Brij Singh Operation Manager and Chander Bhan Choudhary  Operation Sales Manager of Gurugram bases firm Thermofisher on the complaint of FSL Deputy Director Dr Rajiv Kwatra who submitted Watts up recording of all conversations as regard demand for amount Rs 20 lakh which was settled at Rs 11 lakh in this deal to State Vigilance Bureau investigating the case, which was however denied by the officers of the firms.

Information reveals that the case was investigated twice by Special Investigation Teams (SIT) on the orders of Home Minister Anil Vij led by a senior IPS officer in the rank of IGP and by an Additional Director General Police. The case was moved to Punjab and Haryana High Court for the hearing which directed Chief Secretary Haryana government and Director General Police Haryana for immediate action against all those involved in illegal practices.  According to information in January 2021 the tender enquiry was floated by Haryana Medical Services Corporation Limited for purchase of one crore DNA PCR kits and a committee was constituted for the purchase of material, when an officer of the firm had contacted Dr Rajiv Kwatra Assistant Director on 29th October. 2021 and the matter appeared in the newspaper when State Health & Home Minister Anil Vij ordered the SIT to investigate the case, which handed over the report to the State Vigilance Bureau along with the Watts up recording messages between FSL officials and the firms.
