Talking to media here on Thursday, Dr. Sharma said that due to being overweight the patient was also burdened with a host of comorbidities, including hypertension, obstructive sleep apnea, bronchial asthma and polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD).

The excessive weight had led to deranged lipid profiles, persistent high blood pressure, and deteriorating respiratory health, he informed.

Furthermore, the desire to start a family was hindered by her PCOD diagnosis, a common issue among obese females. To ensure a safe pregnancy in the near future, she was advised to shed approximately 60kg of excess weight, said Dr Sharma adding the patient had also struggled with bilateral knee pain due to her morbid obesity, requiring multiple medications to manage her condition.
