According to Haryana State Health Department information, 3115 dengue positive cases have been reported in government hospitals in the state till 20th September 2023, which is a matter of concern for the department since as many as six persons have been reported died due to brain dead as well as failure of multi organs because of reduction in platelets and low blood pressure. The district-wise number of patients suffering from dengue  reported in the state have been identified as maximum number of 321 cases reported at Charkhi Dadri, 274 cases at Rewari, 233 cases at Rohtak, 213 cases at Jhajjar, 208 cases at Yamunanagar, 205 cases at Ambala, 158 cases at Gurugram, 177 cases at Hisar, 199 cases at Jind, 181 cases at Karnal, 165 cases at Panchkula, 172 cases at Sonipat, 120 cases at Sirsa, 84 cases at Faridabad, 36 cases at Bhiwani, 81 cases at Kaithal, 99 cases at Kurukshetra, 28 cases at Fatehabad, 23 cases at Mohindergarh, 19 cases at Nuh, 37 cases at Palwal and 84 cases at Panipat .

Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that spreads from one person to the other only when an Aedes mosquito infected with the dengue virus bites a healthy person, especially during day time. It does not spread by touch, cough or secretions. The symptoms of the disaese include high-grade fever, pain in the eyes, skin rashes, headache, body aches and pain in the joints. In severe cases, dengue fever can lead to difficulty in breathing, severe abdominal pain , vomiting,and bleeding. Most patients with dengue fever have mild illness and can be managed at home by maintaining fluid intake, monitoring symptoms and taking medicines. However, at times it may cause a potentially serious complication called severe dengue (hemorrhage and shock). People suffering from dengue fever should take adequate rest, eat a healthy diet, take plenty of fluids and monitor platelet count and blood pressure closely.

Haryana state health department information reveals that out of 3115 dengue cases reported in the state, 35.57% patients suffering from Dengue were admitted in hospitals, whereas 1861 dengue patients were cured through OPD in the hospitals, 1085 patients have been discharged from the hospitals and 165 patients are still under treatment in the hospitals. According to PGI Rohtak information, two patients suffering from dengue had brain dead due to acute shortage of platelets in the body. According to a doctor in PGI Rohtak, three days ago 90 new dengue positive patients arrived in the hospital, of them 41 patients were admitted in the hospital for the treatment found suffering from shortage of the platelets as well as low blood pressure due to excessive fluid discharge from the body, which is also known as Hemorrhagic fever pushing patient in the state of shock, also known as shock syndrome Information also reveals that two patients suffering from dengue were died due to multi-organ failure and brain dead in PGI Rohtak due to pressure on the heart due to sudden increase in fluid in the blood vessels during recovery stage.
