Ambala police recovers  1 kg opium from drug smuggler

On a clue that a drug smuggler carrying opium in a car bearing UP registration number looking for the customer near Tangri Bridge, CIA – 1 Staff Ambala police led by Inspector Harjinder Singh started checking of vehicles carrying UP registration number at a police barrier at Shahpur near Parao police station Ambala cantt. On seing a car bearing U.P registration number the police team stopeed the vehicle for checking and during search recovered 1 kg opium from the person driving the vehicle who was identified as Maharaj Singh a resident of village Fatehpur Nagla in Wazirganj police station, in Badaun district (U. P) who during preliminary investigation admitted that he had come to Ambala for the supply of opium. A case was registered under NDPS Act at the Parao police station Ambala Cantt which impouded the car bearing registration number P-14CY-7949.
