A weak western disturbance impacted Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in light to moderate snowfall in higher elevations and rains in the plains. Gulmarg received around six inches of fresh snow, transforming it into a winter wonderland. Snowfall was also observed in Sonamarg tourist resort and along the Zojila axis.

The fluctuating weather conditions are expected to continue as the western disturbance is anticipated to linger till Sunday morning. The meteorological department predicts a temporary rise in minimum temperatures due to this disturbance, followed by an expected decline by one-to-three notches afterward.
