Suchana Seth, CEO of an AI startup; killed her 4 year old son in Goa

Bengaluru : Suchana Seth, the 39-year-old CEO of an AI startup in Bengaluru, was  arrested allegedly murdering her four-year-old son at a service apartment in Goa’s Candolim and by hiring taxi to travel back to Karnataka with child’s body in a bag. She was apprehended in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district while attempting to flee in a cab with her son’s body in a bag. The shocking crime, for which investigators are still to find a motive.  But initial investigations suggest that Seth cited an “estranged relationship” with her husband as a factor. Members of the house keeping staff found a blood stain which cleaning the service apartment from which suchana Seth had checked out on Monday morning. Based on an alert from Goa Police, she was detained at Aimangala police station in chitradurga district in Karnataka. Calanguta cops will take custody of Suchana and take her to Goa on transit remand.

After killing her son, Suchana left for Bengaluru in a taxi with his body in a bag. Staff noticed bloodstain room and alerted cops. When cops checked CCTV, they saw she had left room without son. When Inspector called driver and spoke to Suchana, She said her son was at a friend’s place. But when Inspector Paresh Naik  Calangute police station   verified  details he  found the address was fake.Suchana gave a Bengaluru address while checking to room 404 at Candolims’s Hotel Sol Banyan Grande on Saturday. Naik called taxi driver again and speaking in Konkani  asked driver  to visit a nearby police station without the passengers suspecting anything. The taxi had entered Chitradurga district by then.  The driver apparently steered the car to Aimangala poice station without Suchana getting a whiff of the plan. Naik’s suspicion came true when an officer there checked car and found the body of the child in a bag.

 The hotel staff told police that when Suchana wanted a taxi to return to Bengaluru, she was advised that flying back would be cheaper and more convenient, When she insisted travelling by road, the hotel arranged a local taxi.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Suchana is an AI ethics expert and data scientist with over 12 years of experience in mentoring data science teams and scaling machine learning solutions at startups. She is the founder of “The Mindful AI Lab”, a technical consultancy.
