Mclaren 750S supercar launched in Indian market at Rs 5.91 crores

Mumbai: McLaren Automotive has announced the arrival of its latest supercar in the Indian market by unveiling the new “Mclaren 750S” – priced at Rs 5.91 crores – here recently.

Describing the 750S as the “lightest, most powerful” series production with segment-leading power-to-weight ratio of 587PS-per-tonne, Lalit Choudary, Chairman & Managing Director, McLaren Mumbai, said that this car set new performance benchmarks and is poised to delight both connoisseurs and auto enthusiasts while continuing the McLaren legacy.

Replying to questions, Choudary said that the emphasis on sales of McLaren supercars was not volumes but catering to the +elite+ and +gentry+, and that he was looking at sales of 20 McLaren 750S cars per year.

The 750S features a new rear-wheel drive configuration, besides availability in coupe and convertible form. Its technical advances include: weight-saving, powertrain performance, aerodynamics, carbon-fibre-monocoque-and-shelled-racing seats and lightest wheels.

Capable of achieving 0-100 kmph in 2.8 seconds and also quicker than its closest competitor in this regard, this supercar has a lengthened active rear wing that is 20% larger than the earlier 720S yet 1.6 kgs lighter due to its carbon fibre construction.

Built at the state-of-the-art McLaren Composites Technology Centre (MCTC in Yorkshire, UK, its angle configurations are unique to Coupe and Spider with three main operational positions to improve downforce, reduce drag and the performance of high-speed braking.

“At McLaren Racing, every second can make a meaningful difference on the track for our F1 drivers,” Paul Harris, Managing Director – APAC and China, McLaren Automotive stated, adding “For 60 years, our past has fueled our future and we remain committed to delivering on-road comfort of 720S while improving its circuit pedigree to produce the best power-to-weight ratio.”
