Mumbai: Confidence Petroleum Limited announced here recently the launch of its “Type 4 cylinders,” which are expected to play a crucial role in efficient storage and transportation of green hydrogen.

Nitin Khara, CMD, Confidence Petroleum Limited, told media that the Confidence Group is venturing into the green hydrogen market by using its state-of-the-art German technology with innovative designs to optimize storage efficiency and enhance overall reliability of hydrogen-based solutions.

This cylinder is being manufactured by ‘Silversky Exim Pvt Ltd’, a subsidiary of its subsidiary company Confidence Futuristic Energetech Ltd, he said, adding that the Type 4 cylinders will be designed and manufactured with focus on minimizing environmental impact.

The Type 4 cylinders are made primarily from carbon composite with polymer liner: are lighter by 70% compared to metal cylinders; transport 3 times more gas than metal cylinders; are completely corrosion-resistant (Inert Liner); shatterproof/fireproof.

While the Type 4 cylinder would be slightly more costlier that the metal cylinders, it would however carry three time more gas and was much more safer, he said while pointing out that this cylinder would provide the solution to the increasing demand of clean energy storage worldwide, thus contributing to reduction of carbon emissions.

Khara said the Confidence Group is also actively engaging in partnership with key players in the green hydrogen ecosystem including technology providers, energy companies and research institutions.
