Impressed by Big B

MUMBAI:Actor Farhan Akhtar is amazed at the way megastar Amitabh Bachchan works hard even at this age to reinvent himself. The duo is seen together in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Wazir .

“He (Amitabh Bachchan) works very hard. It is not easy to… It is a tiring process. To see that energy and enthusiasm is exciting. Not everybody has had a career as long as him. He is an inspiration for me,” said Farhan.

The director of Dil Chahta Hai found Big B’s working style quite impressive. “He has been here for 45 years or so, and is still excited and hungry for good work. He is enthusiastic about working with new directors. That, to me, is impressive,” he said. Farhan was also bowled over by the child-like quality of the 73-year-old legend. “He is a very serious person. But, he also has a child-like quality, which surfaces once in a while when you are on sets. It’s really nice to see it. That excitement level and energy are fun to see,” he said. “I have been an admirer. I have grown up watching his work. I am a fan. It is surreal to be working with him closely. It was very enjoyable and an exciting experience. When you begin, you feel anxious; then it becomes simpler,” he added. Starring Farhan Akhtar as a cop and Bachchan as a wheelchair-bound chess grandmaster, Wazir , directed by Bejoy Nambiar, released yesterday.–PTI
