Several railway workshop employees trapped in CBI net in iron scrap scam

Jagadhari:  The case of iron scrap fraud detected in Jagadhari railway workshop being investigated by Railway Vigilance Department has been forwarded to CBI for further investigation and action against those involved in this scam going on since a long time., in which the officers as well as the concerned railway workshop employees have been supplying iron scrap to the buyers in much lesser weight for their self-vested financial interest. The mystery of underweight supply of scrap exposed when on a clue the railway vigilance team from the railways headquarter during a surprise raid conducted on three trucks loaded with the iron scrap parked outside the railway workshop in which 10 ton scrap was found less in a truck, 7 ton scrap was found less in second truck and  40 kg scrap was found less in the third truck as compared to the quantity mentioned in the gate pass.

 The vigilance team suspected embezzlements were going on in the railway workshop since a long time and during a thorough checking on the order of General Manager Northern Railways Headquarter Mr Shobhan when it was observed that a chip was affixed in the weighing machine installed inside the railway workshop an this practice was going on since a long time, when the case was handed over to the CBI for investigation and action by the General Manager.who also ordered suspension of few senior workshop employees and many others were transferred to other places. Information also reveals that several railway employees involved in embezzlement and fraud at Jagadhari railway workshop are yet on CBI radar, against whom CBI may lodge legal action anytime.
