Webcasting to be conducted at 20,031 polling centers in Haryana, 51 polling centres declared highly sensitive

Haryana Chief Electoral Officer,(CEO) Anurag Agarwal while addressing media persons at Chandigarh said that during present Lok Sabha elections 2024, webcasting surveillance at 20,031 polling stations will be done at state control rooms, district control rooms and by the Election Commission of India. In this regard, demo webcasting of 900 polling stations has been conducted at the district and headquarters levels so far, he said as many as 300 barriers at entry points of the adjoining states Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan are being set up with the security arrangements provided by 35000 policemen from 90 para-military companies, 24000 home guards, besides 418 flying squads, 415 static serviclance, 34 quick response teams by Haryana Armed Police and IRB forces on duty . He said, out of the total number of 1,33,513 licensed weapons in the state 1,14, 667 weapons have been deposited in police stations in the state.
Shatrujit Kapoor, Director General Police (DGP) said that arrangements are being made to keep strict vigil on all polling stations across the state on the day of polling, 25th May 2024 to avoid any unwanted incident. He said, there are 20 thousand and six polling booths in the state having sufficient number of police men to maintain law and order. He further said, out of the total number of polling centres at 1362 places across the state, 3033 polling centres have been declared sensitive (critical), of these 51 polling centres have been identified as highly sensitive.
