Sukhbir Badal spent maximum time while talking about the independent candidate Amritpal Singh rather his own party candidate in election rally

Khadoor Sahib /Tarn Taran, May 18 – Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today speaking in the election rally in favour of party candidate from Khdoor Sahib Virsa Singh Valthoa spent almost time while talking about the independent candidate Amritpal Singh   a radical Sikh preacher contesting from the same constituency. 

He said that Bhai Amritpal Singh could not be classified as a Bandi Singh even as he announced that he would not allow the latter to mislead the youth of Punjab and push the State back into darkness.

In a speech at village Naurangabad which SAD president said that Amritpal Singh, who had spent one year in jail after arriving in Punjab in suspicious circumstances, was not a Bandi Singh. “The real Bandi Singhs are those who have spent 26 to 29 years in jail because of certain acts after being swayed by emotions. These persons have never asked to be released from prison but it the SAD and the Sikh Sangat which is fighting for their freedom”.

The SAD president, who was campaigning for party candidate Virsa Singh Valtoha, said “remember this person landed in Punjab two years back as a clean shaven Central agencies, which were privy to his movements, did not take any action against him but instead let him grow politically. Following this, when the law finally caught up with him, Amritpal adopted a disguise to escape and was finally ‘arrested’ after negotiations”.

Badal also cast aspersions at the manner in which Amritpal entered politics from prison. “His main proposer and lawyer is Rajdev Singh, who is the RSS leader from Malwa Zone – 1. Will a panthic personality ever appoint a RSS functionary as his lawyer?” he asked.
