Three sentenced 20 years imprisonment, Rs 15000 fine for sodomising minor

Ambala: The Fast Track Court of Additional Sessions Judge Ambala sentenced three persons rigorous imprisonment of 20 years and Rs 15000 fine each for committing sexual assault upon a minor boy of age around 12 for four to five  years threatening to release his nude video prepared by them on social media, besides a compensation of Rs 4 lakh was also awarded to the victim. The three were identified as Harsimran Singh (28), his brother Gagandeep Singh (32) and Jaskirat Singh (32) all residents of Kajiwara Ambala City. A complaint was lodged with police station Ambala City by the father of the victim on 3rd March 2020 who stated that the accused had been sodomising his son for the past four to five years. According to the court, the convicts have committed aggravated penetrative sexual assault upon the child as such the victim suffered a lot of mental pain which cannot be compensated in any manner and the trauma would be lifelong.

The court sentenced the convicts to 20 years of imprisonment to each under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each of them, besides the court awarded them one-year imprisonment under Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of them. Both sentences will run concurrently. According to police information, during investigation in the case a large amount of evidence was collected against the accused by medical examination report, footage of their mobile phones to check the voice of the alleged accused, which were seized by the police along with a laptop forwarded to the FSL for examination and report.
