Around 2 Crore drug money seized at Indo-Pak border village

Amritsar: In a joint search operation carried out by Punjab Police and Border Security Force today succeeded to seize nearly rupees 2 crore drug money with the arrest of two alleged accused here today.

In an official statement issued here today  by the Amritsar ( Rural) Police stated that on the tip of Joint search operation by Punjab Police and BSF was  launched, whereupon police succeeded to seize Drug money rupees 1.97 crore with the arrest of two allege accused.

Police said that two alleged accused have been identified as Balwinder and Gurpreet Singh resident of Indo-Pak border village Kakkar falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Lopokey.

Police said that both the arrested accused were in touch with the Pakistani based smugglers and  were managing  to smuggle drugs from Pakistan and send them money through the Hawala system.

Police said that a thorough investigation has been initiated against the two arrested accused to bring out more information about  the smuggled consignments of drugs and about their accomplices who were involved in the drug smuggling.
