Srinagar declared ‘Temporary Red Zone’ ahead of PM Modi’s Yoga day visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, for two days starting June 20, 2024. This marks his first visit to the state after the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. 

The visit is in connection with the International Day of Yoga, which is observed on June 21. The main Yoga event this year will be held in Srinagar, and PM Modi will be participating in it.

In preparation for his visit, Srinagar has been declared a ‘Temporary Red Zone’ for drone and quadcopter operations, according to an order issued by Srinagar police on June 18. Unauthorized drone activities in the area will be penalized under the Drone Rules, 2021.

The theme for this year’s International Day of Yoga is “Yoga for Self and Society,” encouraging individuals and communities to incorporate Yoga into their daily lives. Various Yoga events will also be organized across all district headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir.
