20 years journey from a ‘Kabadi’ to multi-millionaire businessman

Yamunanagar:  Naresh Verma alias ‘Kala Kabadi’ recently arrested by Yamunanagar police allegedly firing at his wife Anjana Verma and also presently undergoing four days police remand as regard large number of complaints against him for running prostitution business since past over a year in which more than a dozen other persons are also alleged involved in flesh trade with him. Naresh Verma alias ‘Kala Kabadi’ was a resident of village Bhagwan about two decades ago and after his father Balwant retired from Postal Department in year 2000, he started his career opening a small scale shop in sale and purchase of disposal goods in Kirti Nagar near Tejli Stadium and gradually also started finance business, presently having a huge network of business including a large double story disposal goods godown, a  milk dairy, running a gym, a PG house for females comprising of 14 rooms, a jewellery shop, financing business and also allegedly involved in running flesh trade since past over a year. On last Tuesday, Yamunanagar police with the help of four JCBs demolished his double storey disposal goods godown and several other illegally built buildings in a big complex of value worth Rs 6 crore.

SP Yamunanagar Ganga Ram Poonia said that two cases have been registered at Sector 17 police station against Naresh Verma alias ‘Kala kabadi’ allegedly running prostitution business along with his companion Ankit a resident of Ishapur, already arrested by the police allegedly supplying females to different hotels in Haryana, Himachal and other states in his I-20 car already seized by the police. Information from a diary seized by the police has a large number of telephone numbers and addresses of the owners as well as managers of hotels and nearly a dozen agents arranging, supplying females for prostitution. Information revealed that such females used to stay in PG House owned by ‘Kala Kabadi’ to whom he used to pay an amount between Rs 25,000 to 30,000 every week. Information also revealed that ‘Kala Kabadi’ was also offering jobs to females in other states at attractive salaries, later forcing them to adopt flesh trade.

 SP Yamunanagr said that police during raids recovered nearly 54 vehicles forcibly impounded by ‘Kala Kabadi’ from those who failed to refund money taken by them as loan, besides a few illegal weapons were also recovered from him and a case under Arms Act was also registered against him. He said that there were several other cases registered against ‘Kala Kabadi’ which included forcible extraction of money, sexual attack on a Delhi girl who arrived for a job and was compelled to adopt flesh trade, and police has started investigation as regard people associated with ‘Kala Kabadi’ in illegal business as per information in the diary recovered by police.
