Owner of two-wheeler dealership at Hansi shot dead outside his showroom

Hansi: After the firing incidents in Hisar last week in which the owners of an automobile showroom from whom extorsion amount Rs 5 crore was demanded was shot dead and followed by another incident at a car accessories shop owner had received extortion calls asking to pay Rs 2 crore ransom, now in a third case reported at Hansi in Hisar district a local leader of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) was also shot dead by assailants outside his two-wheeler dealership here on Wednesday late evening.

The victim Ravindra Saini, aged around 48 was shot by three men who approached on foot moments after he stepped out of the showroom attending a mobile phone call. CCTV footage showed another person waiting on a motorcycle without having a registration number plate parked close to the showroom. The three got on the two-wheeler after the attack and escaped. Police said Saini was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead. According to sources in the police department, Saini had been provided a gunman for security, since he had suffered incidents of firing at his showroom twice in past during ‘Jaat Aandolan’ in 2014 and by a customer in 2017 and was provided a gunman for his security who was sitting inside the showroom at the time of firing.

Reacting to the incident, former CM and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda said, it is a matter of great concern and anger that the BJP has handed over the people of Haryana to criminals fearlessly committing murders, extortions and robberies. He demanded there should be quick and strict action against the killers of Ravindra Saini. All opposition parties in Haryana have recently hit out at the Nayab Singh Saini-led BJP government in Haryana on the worsening law-and-order situation in the state. Senior JJP leader and former deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala demanded the state should have a full-time home minister to control worsening law and order in the state. Last week, shops and petrol pumps remained  closed in Hisar with traders protesting the police’s failure to arrest miscreants who opened fire outside a car dealership last month and demanded Rs 5 crore followed by another incident another owner of an automobile parts shop received extortion calls asking them to pay up to Rs 2 crore.

Bajrang Das Garg, President of Haryana Vyapar Mandal expressed deep concern over repeated incidents of firing for ransom demand. He said, there is no law and order in the state and life of traders, industrialists, common citizens and even police officers is unsafe in the state. Naib Singh Saini Chief Minister held a meeting with the home department and police officers 10th July evening in which Anurag Rastogy Home Secretary, Alok Kumar CID chief and Shatrujit Kapoor DGP were present. He said stern action should be taken against hard core criminals in the state along with increasing cases of drugs smuggling in Haryana which will be reviewed again after a week.  Saini demanded stern action against hard core criminals involved in criminal activities in Hisar, Rohtak, Bahadurgarh, Sonipat and Kurukshetra districts as well as drug smugglers in the state, and their properties should be seized immediately.
