Properties of value worth Rs 48 crore owned by drug smugglers seized in Haryana

Haryana state government has launched a campaign against drug smugglers for a month and so far have seized properties owned by the drug smugglers of value worth Rs 48 crore. During a meeting held by the Haryana Chief Secretary TVSN Persad in which all Deputy Commissioners of all districts and senior police officers were present said that SDMs in the districts should have frequent checking of all drug de-addiction centres in every district.

Chief Secretary, Haryana  disclosed that during this year with effect from 1st January till 30th June  1653 cases under NDPS Act has been registered in the state in which 2191 accused involved in drug smuggling have been arrested and from 428 accused police recovered 12 kg heroine, 69 kg charas, 3440 kg ‘ganja’, 130 kg opium, 6616 kg poppy husk and 1,64,790 pharmaceutical drugs. Haryana state government seized properties of 102 drug smugglers of value worth R 498 crores in the state.
