Mission 60,000′ to boost employment for youths in Haryana: Nayab Saini

In a recent meeting presided by Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini a proposal to boost youth empowerment and employment ‘IT Saksham Yuva Scheme – 2024’ was approved  to provide employment to  nearly 60,000 qualified youths in the state to strengthen e-governess in the state. Saini said that there is a proposal to provide employment to  nearly 5000 youths belonging to poor families in the first phase after providing them minimum three months training in a designed programme, thereafter they will be provided regular jobs in different government departments, Boards, Corporations and registered Societies, agencies and private organisations.

CM said that the scheme, designed in accordance with the ‘Mission 60000’ announced during the 2024-25 Budget speech, aims to give employment to at least 60,000 young individuals from families below poverty line will receive a monthly remuneration of Rs 20,000 for the first six months and thereafter Rs 25,000 monthly from the seventh month onwards. He said 15,000 youths with a diploma or a degree in civil engineering will be trained so that they can become contractors, in a significant move aimed at empowering the youths from economically challenged backgrounds.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had announced the initiation of ‘Mission 60,000.’ during the state-level ‘Vivekananda Youth Mahasammelan’ on Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary in order to provide employment opportunities for 60,000 youngsters whose families earn less than Rs 1.80 lakh annually.  He said that there will be a provision to provide  unemployment allowance to IT qualified youths  in the state till the time they fail to offer them regular government jobs under this scheme. by Haryana State Electronics Vikas Nigam (HARTRON). Saini detailed the key components of ‘Mission’ 60,000 in which the government aims to engage 7,500 ‘Van Mitra’ individuals, recruit 15,000 contractual employees through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam, and involve 7,500 ‘e-Sewa Mitra’ for Common Services Centre, among other roles. Additionally, 15,000 youths with diplomas or degrees in civil engineering will receive specialised training to become contractors. Highlighting a key financial support aspect, former CM Khattar had stated that the government will extend a loan of Rs 3 lakhs to those individuals for one year without requiring any collateral and trained youths under this programme will be exempt from providing a guarantee for work up to Rs 25 lakh.
