28 cyber criminals including six females arrested running fake call centre in 2 raids

Faridabad : The cyber police Ballabhgarh arrested 28 cyber criminals including six females running two fake call centres from whom recovered 50 laptops and six mobile phones, ACP Cyber Crime Cell Abhimanyu Goel while talking to media persons  said the police on a secret information raided a fake call centre in Sector 86 and arrested three persons identified as Yash Taneja,  Avideep and Chirag Arora. Preliminary investigation revealed that a female Deepiks Arora was the owner of this fake call centre. The arrested accused disclosed that they are running the call center along with another four persons Hemant Tiwari, Lavi Guglani, Athil Gulati and Sahil Sodhi. The raiding team seized  five laptops and five mobile phones from the call centre. The raiding team on their information also arrested the prime accused Sameer Srivastava.

He said the modus operandi of the criminals was offering part time jobs, earning profits through investment in share market, offering easy bank loans, different types of on-line blackmailing and luring people to deposit money for higher refund. Goel said, during a second raid by a cyber team jointly along with cyber police station Ballabgarh and Sector 7 police station a fake call centre near YMCA University as many as 17 persons including five females were arrested.  ACP Goel said people should not pass on their personal and bank account details to anyone on phone and avoid visiting untrusted or suspicious links online. He said cyber crimes need to be reported immediately to 1930 or visit https://cybercrime.gov.in. as it will help in freezing the bank accounts of cyber criminals.
