Heroine of value worth Rs 2 crore seized with 2 arrested

Ambala : Team of CIA-1 staff led by Inspector Harjinder Singh on a secret clue that two youths carrying drugs are moving under suspiceous condition on the National Highway No. 1 near Dukheri Bridge between Ambala and Shahabad area under Parao Police Station, Ambala Cantt. Finding two youths on a motorcycle, police team surrounded both and during checking recovered 260 gm heroine of international value worth Rs 2 crore from them. Both arrested by police were residents of Ambala Cantt identified as Sooraj alias Passi resident of Sunder Nagar in Nanhera and Chetan alias Nanu resident of Lucky Vihar (Behind BD Flour Mill) Ambala Cantt.

Addressing a press conference Surinder Singh Bhoria SP Ambala said, Ambala police between 1st July and 31st July this year has arrested 17 persons in 11 cases registered against the drug smugglers, in which drugs of value worth Rs 3 crore 40 lakh and 10 thousand were seized by police. Both arrested were produced in the court on 31st July 2024 and were remanded to police custody for two days. During police remand, both arrested disclosed that Raj Kumar alias Paiya was also involved with them in drug smuggling business. Police started search for him and arrested on 2nd August. Drugs along with the motorcycle carried by Sooraj and Chetan were taken into custody by the police.
