Two minor sisters strangled to death, police claims to solve double murder mystery in hours

Ambala: Two minor sisters were found dead at their house under mysterious circumstances in old Bakra Mandi, Valmiki Colony Ambala City on 31st July between 8-30 and 9 AM. The deceased were identified as Yogita (11) and Amayra (7). Their father, Sonu, works in a factory and mother Jyoti works as a domestic help servant. The deceased’s elder brother Saurabh saw both lying unconscious and informed victim’s grandfather Ved Parkash who immediately rushed both to the hospital where doctors declared dead. Yogita was strangled to death and blood was seen oozing from her mouth, whereas  Amarya was strangled to death with the help of a mobile phone charging wire. Sunil Dutt Inspector City Police station said the victims had struggled too much to save their lives and blood spots were seen on a nail clipping of elder sister Yogita, indicating that she had attempted to hurt the killer when trying to save her.

The family suspects the role of a person, with whom the victim’s father Sonu had a monetary dispute, suspected to have caused the death of both girls. ACP Shrisati Gupta reached the spot immediately to investigate the case. Later while talking to media persons she said that the nail clipping of elder sister Jyoti has been sent to a forensic laboratory for investigation and reveal truth about the accused. She said that on the basis of investigations carried so far police is quite near to the accused likely to be arrested soon after the receipt forensic  report of nail clipping. She said, earlier a person had visited the house and had a verbal spat with my family.

In his complaint to the police, grandfather Ved Prakash (62) stated that he had adopted Sonu who had four children. He disclosed that Sonu has been addicted to drugs for the past four years. On Wednesday around 7 am, Vikas visited and accused Sonu of stealing money and hurling abuses at us. Sources said the police also suspect the role of a near and dear in the family in the death of both minors. According to the post-mortem report, smothering and strangulation were the causes of death of both girls. Ambala SP Surinder Singh Bhoria said a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint lodged by victim’s grandfather Ved Parkash. The family has raised suspicion on a person and the matter is under investigation likely to trap accused in police net very soon after the receipt of forensic report.
