Shell India: Empowering the Future at “Changemakers of Tomorrow 2024”

Bengaluru: Shell India hosted the second edition of its flagship event, “Changemakers of Tomorrow 2024”, in Bengaluru, drawing together a dynamic group of experts, industry leaders, and innovators to foster collaboration and design forward-thinking solutions for the future of energy. This daylong event, inaugurated by Madhu Bangarappa,  Minister for Primary & Secondary Education, and Gaurav Gupta (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Energy and Water Resources, Government of Karnataka, marked a pivotal step in shaping a sustainable energy future for India.

In his keynote address,Madhu Bangarappa emphasized Karnataka’s commitment to becoming a hub for knowledge and technological advancement. He lauded Shell for creating a platform where the innovation and creativity of young minds are nurtured, remarking, “As Karnataka strives to become a hub for knowledge and technological advancements, initiatives like Changemakers of Tomorrow will help equip the youth with the mindset and skills necessary to create a more resilient energy future.”

The event underscored Shell’s mission to drive India’s energy transition through innovation and collaboration. Mansi Madan Tripathy, Chairperson of Shell Group of Companies in India, highlighted the event’s importance: “India’s youth are not just dreaming of a sustainable energy future but actively engineering it. This event spotlights their extraordinary potential, and Shell aims to provide them with the tools, knowledge, and support to drive transformative change.”

Changemakers of Tomorrow 2024 featured a variety of programs, including Shell’s flagship NXplorers program for school students, showcasing startups incubated by Shell E4, and groundbreaking ideas in low-carbon technologies and energy storage. The event also hosted masterclasses led by industry leaders like Wipro, Microsoft, Accenture, Infosys, HP, and Tata Consultancy Services, emphasizing the role of partnerships in advancing digital innovation to transform the energy sector.

Gaurav Gupta (IAS) praised Shell’s efforts, stating, “India’s energy landscape is evolving rapidly, and the transition to a sustainable and resilient energy future is paramount. Shell’s platform creates a dynamic ecosystem for young entrepreneurs and fosters collaborations, accelerating India’s transition to a low-carbon economy.”

A key highlight was a panel discussion featuring Kamal Bali, President and MD of Volvo Group India; Vijay Nirani, MD of Nirani Group and TruAlt Energy; and Mansi Madan Tripathy, Chairperson of Shell India. Together, they explored the importance of collaboration in expanding energy choices and advancing India’s low-carbon future.
