Dhami wishes best to Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh on appointment of Chief of Indian Air Force

Amritsar, September 21 – Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Harjinder Singh Dhami has congratulated and wished best to Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh on his appointment as the Chief of the Indian Air Force.

In a press release, he said that it is a matter of great pride for Punjabis and especially Sikhs that a Sikh officer will lead the Air Force of the country. He said that earlier Air Marshal Arjan Singh and Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa had served as the Chief of the Indian Air Force for a long time. He said that Punjabis especially Sikhs have contributed greatly in the defence of the country and the young Sikh generation should participate in the competition for higher positions taking guidance from their history.

He expressed hope that Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh will work for the further advancement of Sikh identity by adopting turban and Sabat Soorat (with unshorn hair) Sikh lifestyle.
