Ambala domestic airport ready for inauguration, delayed due to code of conduct

Ambala:  Domestic airport building constructed adjoining the army area of Ambala, the project was got approved with the efforts of the former Home Minister Anil Vij, built on about 10 acres of land adjacent to the military dairy farm is ready for inauguration which was stuck due to the code of conduct imposed a few days ago, however the first flight as scheduled to Ayodhya was stopped. While the residents of Ambala and adjoining areas were waiting for this flight for a long time. While Haryana’s Aviation Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta and former Home Minister Anil Vij had inspected it on August 1 before the code of conduct and instructed to complete the work as soon as possible. While if PWD officials are to be believed, the work of the domestic airport is almost complete. Now only the inauguration is awaited. Initially, there will be flights for Lucknow and Jammu-Kashmir.

After getting permission from the Air Force Authority, the work gained momentum. Civil Aviation had made a way by breaking the wall of the adjoining Air Force station from where those going for the flight would get entry. After that, they will be allowed to enter after checking from the main gate of the Air Force Station. Apart from parking, this airport also has the facility of waiting room for the passengers and canteen etc. With the opening of this domestic airport at Ambala, the businessmen of Ambala and the nearby cities will be the most benefited. One will be able to reach any other state from Ambala directly and in less time, which will also reduce the time apart from efficiency in business. Passengers from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand will also be able to take advantage of this domestic airport. The runway of Ambala Air Force Station will be used for take-off and landing of aircraft.
