Rohtak :  A 20-year-old girl Sonia  alias Sony resident of Nangloi in Delhi having relationship with a youth Saleem alias Sanju also residing in Nangloi when she became pregnant. When she put pressure on her boyfriend for marriage, she was strangled to death by him along with his friend Pankaj suspecting Soniya having relations with someone else too the accused Saleem took her to a nearby village Madina in Rohtak district where she was injured during a hot discussion between both and Sonia was strangled to death by Saleem and his friend, buried the body in the jungle near village Madina in Rohtak district at a distance of nearly 50 km from Nangloi. On the complaint of Sonia’s brother Manish lodged with Nangloi police station about the disappearance of his sister, police started searching for the accused  boyfriend Saleem alias Sanju and his two friends and arrested Saleem. However, the alleged accused Saleem admitted the crime,The body of Sonia having injuries on her body was recovered from the jungle on the information of the alleged accused where the body was buried by the three.

Outer Delhi District DCP Sachin Kumar said that the girl Sonia from Nangloi area was having an affair with youth Sanju. Meanwhile, the girl became pregnant. When the girl put pressure on her boyfriend to marry her, he started refusing. On October 20, the accused also convinced the girl to keep the Karva Chauth fast. In the name of breaking the fast, he took the girl for a ride in a rented car with his two friends Pankaj and Hrithik. The accused strangled the girl to death on the way. After this, all of them reached Rohtak to dispose of the body. The accused buried the body by digging a pit of about 3 feet in the forest of Madina village located in Bahu Akbarpur police station area in Rohtak district.

The girl’s missing report was registered by the police on 21 st October.
After the girl went missing on 20 October, her brother registered her missing report in Nangloi police station on 21 October. The brother also expressed suspicion on accused Sanju. When Delhi Police started the investigation, evidence was found that Sanju talked to the girl on mobile phone. Sanju had also made the last call on the girl’s mobile. On suspicion, the police took Sanju into custody and questioned him, then he confessed to the crime. Delhi Police talked to the Bahu Akbarpur police station, recovered the body from the field and sent it to PGIMS Rohtak. Police said that the girl had suspected that something untoward would happen on the highway between Rohtak and Bahadurgarh. When the girl started protesting, the accused Sanju strangled her to death. Deceased’s Brother Maneesh, having tears in eyes after seeing his sister’s body buried in the field in Rohtak said that he cautioned many times about the character of her boy friend Saleem, and had explained to his sister many times that the boy was wrong and she should stay away from him, but she did not listen and lost her life. Both Pankaj and Hrithik helped the accused Sanju in the name of friendship and ruined their own lives as well as their family’s. The body was sent for postmortem. The entire investigation is being conducted by Delhi Police.
