Amritsar, October 25 – A sizable crowd of farmers led by the the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) today staged a protest in front of the office of District Mandi officer at Bhagatwala area here in the city .
Comrade Rattan Randhawa, leader of SKM said that SKM held a statewide protest in Punjab today due to delays in paddy procurement. He blamed both the Punjab government and the BJP-led central government.
Another SKM leader Balkar Singh Dudhala said that farmers have also blocked the main highways at Kukrawala near the Ajnala town and similarly at Attari Wagah road which was completely blocked for heavy vehicles.
