Firing at jeweler’s showroom in Yamunanagar, owner injured

Yamunanagar: Six to seven miscreants opened fire after entering the showroom of Roshan Lal & Sons Jewelers located near the ESI Hospital on the Yamunanagar-Jagadhari Railway Station Road. The bullet hit the showroom operator, 28-year-old Shivkumar, in the lower portion of his stomach. It is not yet to be known if the showroom was robbed or not. The safe inside the showroom was open, suspecting that the miscreants must have taken the jewellery from inside while leaving the showroom. The injured was admitted to the trauma centre for treatment. On receiving the information, CIA in-charge Kewal Singh and Sector 17 HUDA in-charge Jasmer Gulia and along with the policemen reached the spot. In the firing, a vegetable vendor Satya Prakash and milkman Krishna Lal standing there had a narrow in the accident. The police started investigations.

 Amit, resident of Chhoti Line said that he has a showroom in the name of Om Jewelers near the ESI Hospital. Along with him, his nephew Shivkumar has a jeweler’s showroom in the name of Roshan Lal & Sons, when during evening at around 7 PM, Shiv Kumar was sitting in the showroom with his brother Chetan, when 5 to 6 masked miscreants on 3 to 4 bikes carrying weapons entered Shiv Kumar’s showroom and fired two shots inside the showroom after this they fled towards Tejali village sitting on their bikes. While fleeing, the miscreants also fired two shots on the road outside in which a bullet passed under the left arm of Satya Prakash, a resident of Durga Garden who was selling vegetables on the road and another youth Krishna Kumar selling milk, was standing nearby and the bullet passed under his right arm.

Chetan along with his uncle Madan Mohan took Shiv Kumar sustained bullet injury to the trauma center. Meanwhile, the police reached the spot and started the investigation. Amit Kumar said that he does not know whether the showroom was robbed or not, but the way the safe was open inside and the glass of the counter broken by the miscreants must have taken some jewellery items with them while leaving the showroom after firing. The police are searching for CCTV footage installed inside the showroom.
