Chandigarh : Two blasts took place one after the other near two night clubs De.orra night club and another owned by rapper Badshah’s night club Seville in Chandigarh on Tuesday. According to the CCTV footage camera installed outside the club’s two miscreants, having covered their faces with a blanket, riding on motorcycles threw country-made bombs. The intensity of the blast was very low, so there is no news of anyone being injured, except window glasses of the club and a couple of surrounding buildings were broken. Local police from nearby Sector 26 police station as well as the NIA team reached the spot to investigate the matter. The incident took place a few days prior to the visit of Prime Minister Narender Modi and Home Minister Shah’s visit to Chandigarh on 3rd December. Kanwardeep kaur SSP Chandigarh said that police have started search for the miscreants and night vigil by police has been increased. Club employee Purna Chand said that two blasts happened at around 3:15 in the night when the visitors had already left, except a couple of employees were present.
According to information a similar bomb attack was also seen in Chandigarh on 11 September 2024, when two youths attacked a bungalow in Sector-10 with a hand grenade and the glass panes of the bungalow were broken in the blast. Investigation had revealed that this attack was done by mistaking the house of a police officer. Later, the police arrested two accused youths in this case. The forensic teams of Chandigarh Police have started investigating the matter of twin explosions near two nightclubs including Badshah’s Seville rock city. According to sources from Chandigarh police, the incident cannot be classified as a bomb, as the substance used was potash with crackers, which was in a very large quantity. It said that an attempt was made to explode country-made bombs outside Chandigarh’s night clubs by using potash used in firecrackers. Some thin jute ropes were also recovered from the spot. Since the night clubs were closed at the time of the blasts, it is believed that these blasts were carried out only to spread terror.
The sources further said that it is a case of extortion. The initial investigations suspect that the angle behind these blasts is extortion by spreading terror among the owners of nightclubs. The forensic teams of Chandigarh Police are currently investigating the matter. DSP Dilbag Singh Dhaliwal said, they got information in the control room that there was a bomb explosion. The forensic team has arrived and the FIR has been lodged. Sources according to a post on internet media facebook reveal that Goldi Brar and Rohit Godara, companions of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi are suspected prime accused behind the explosions for ransom demand from the owners of the clubs. SSP Kanwardeep Kaur said that searach for the accused has been started by the police.
