Udyamotsav: Fostering Visionaries, Shaping  Futures

Mohali : Entrepreneurship is rapidly emerging as a pivotal career path for the youth, and recognizing this, the Department of Pharmaceutical Management, NIPER S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), in collaboration with TiE Chandigarh, organized a five-day festival of entrepreneurship, Udyamotsav – From Vision to Venture. The event aimed to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit among students and provide essential insights into the journey from idea to execution. Each day of the event featured a distinguished speaker sharing their expertise on critical aspects of entrepreneurship.

On Day 1, the event began with an insightful session by Mr. Atul Pathria, CEO and Founder of Quinji Tech, on ‘Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Mindset.’ A cybersecurity expert and author of 2 books, he shared examples of Indian-origin companies like Biocon and PharmEasy to illustrate how opportunities can be leveraged. He emphasized networking, learning from failures, and identifying solutions to problems, inspiring students to see the world as a treasure trove of ideas.

Day 2 featured Ms. Ritika Singh, CEO and Founder of Kontent Factory, delivered an engaging talk on ‘How to Present a Business Plan’. She introduced the PERSISTENT Framework for crafting impactful business plans, stressing the importance of storytelling, validation, and understanding the expectations of investors and mentors.

Mr. Sahil Makkar, Managing Director at Punjab Angels Network, on day 3 discussed Startup Challenges and Funding. He explored how passion and funding align, offering vivid examples of valuation and its varying perspectives. He also shared his vision of transforming Punjab into a startup hub.

On day 4, Mr. Nitin Jain, Director at VT Netzwelt, spoke on Lean Canvas/Business Plan, emphasizing how 99% of startups fail due to improper planning. He discussed how a lean canvas be beneficial in making an efficient business plan. Through a practice exercise, he encouraged attendees to create a lean business canvas, making the session highly interactive.

On last day, the event concluded with a motivational session by Ms. Kanika Raajdev, CEO and Founder of Mindcog, who shared her entrepreneurial journey. She highlighted the importance of being open to new ideas, leaving students inspired by her real-life success story.

With the presence of distinguished dignitaries like TiE Chandigarh President Mr. Satish Kumar Arora, Treasurer & Joint Secretary Mr. Advait Upadhyay, and members Ms. Navsudeep and Mr. Mehakdeep, Udyamotsav reflected a dynamic event. The leadership of Prof. Pramil Tiwari, Prof. Anand Sharma, and Dr. Anil Kumar Angrish ensured the event’s success by fostering an environment where students could dream big, plan better, and prepare for a promising entrepreneurial future.  The seamless execution of Udyamotsav was a testament to the dedication and meticulous planning of the Organizing Committee (Komal Bhardwaj, Aarti Prakash, Prathamesh Jambhulkar, Mahendra Mahajan, Preshit Bhamare, Sagar Sarode, Dev Jani, Shrestha Saha and Riya), whose efforts ensured every session was impactful and inspiring for all attendees.
