Park hospital flags off all-women bike rally to celebrate International Women’s Day

New Delhi: In a first-of-its-kind initiative in Gurgaon, Park Group of Hospitals organized an all-women bike rally to mark International Women’s Day. The event aimed to encourage women to take charge of their health and careers while challenging societal norms.

Over 100 women bikers participated in the ride, which commenced from Park Hospital and concluded at Park Plaza, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The rally symbolized empowerment, inclusivity, and awareness about women’s health.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. (Maj.) Nitika Poonia, Chief Operating Officer, Park Hospital, said, “This bike rally is our way of promoting women’s empowerment and health awareness. The belief that women can’t ride bikes is outdated. We are proud to contribute to the Inclusive India Mission.”

As part of a larger initiative, expert bikers will provide training to women, enabling them to secure employment opportunities. The program aims to train over 1,000 women in bike riding, addressing the increasing demand for female riders in companies like Zomato, Swiggy, and Ecom Express.

Amit Saini, Head of the Bikers Group, emphasized the impact of the initiative, stating, “Through this ride, we celebrate women’s resilience and advocate for equal opportunities. Our goal is to empower more than 1,000 women by teaching them bike riding skills, helping them gain financial independence.”

Women from diverse backgrounds joined the rally, showcasing their determination and unity in advocating for education, equality, and self-reliance.
