Chandigarh: Present in the press conference former minister Attar Singh Saini, Swami Nityanand President Arya Samaj Manch, former MLA Meham Umed Singh, former MLA Beri Ajit Singh Kadian, Master Hari Singh who was political advisor to many Chief Ministers, former Chief Minister Hukam Singh’s nephew Dalip Sarpanch Saman, Meham Chaubisi Khap’s head Subhash Nambardar, Rod Samaj’s head mahendra Rod Pundri, social leader Rajendra Farmana, Phool Kumar Petwad President Teachers Association, former MP Jagveer’s son Kamal Singh Speaking at a press conference organized today at the Press Club of Chandigarh by Nyay Paksha President Randeep Lohchab with the leaders of the Swabhiman movement being run in Haryana state on the issue of making Haryana’s new capital in the middle of Haryana, he said, even after 58 years of Haryana state coming into existence, we are deprived of our new capital and a separate High Court, this is hurtful to the self-respect of the three crore people of the state. At present, the Haryana State Government plans to build a new Haryana Vidhan Sabha building near the Panchkula border in Chandigarh.
The construction of a big new Haryana Vidhan Sabha building in Chandigarh for the increased seats of the new Vidhan Sabha in 2029 shows that the current Haryana Government and the Opposition have no interest in building a new capital and a separate High Court in the middle of the state. Their thinking is that if a new capital is ever built after the passage of time, it should be built in Panchkula. The head offices of many departments have been being built in Panchkula for the last two decades.
The indication is clear that if the new Vidhan Sabha building is built in Chandigarh, then in future the capital of the state will never be built in the middle of Haryana. This will be a never-healing wound for the people of the state and future generations. Randeep Lohchab said that Chandigarh is situated in the middle of Punjab, in a remote corner of Haryana, where one has to travel 800 kms from South West Haryana to the middle of Punjab, which wastes our time and money, there are many difficulties, the development of the state, trade, business, employment is decreasing, our honour and self-respect is dying, the enthusiasm of the young generation is decreasing.
In the present situation, the need of the hour is that the new Vidhan Sabha building should not be built in Chandigarh but in the middle of Haryana, beyond Delhi, at equal distance from North South, it should be built at a suitable place after conducting a survey between Hisar Meham, Jind Bhiwani, a separate High Court of Haryana should be built here, a very modern, well-equipped, world class, best and beautiful city should be built at this place. While warning the newly formed government of the state, Lohchab said that even after a long delay, the present Haryana government has a golden opportunity to rectify the past mistakes.
The capital in the middle of Haryana can make every citizen of Haryana prosperous. The geographical position of Haryana is such that Haryana will become India’s Singapore and earn a name in the world when the new capital will be built in the middle of Haryana. The most modern and beautiful city equipped with all facilities will be built in the world. The convener of the movement, while calling the movement in accordance with the public sentiments for the state’s interest, public interest, bright future of the future generation, facilities, equal development, employment to the youth, respect and dignity of the citizens, Randeep Lohchab urged the state government for the truth that in this very assembly session, by passing a proposal to build the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Bhawan in the middle of Haryana, do justice to the state and the people. Former Haryana government minister Atar Singh Saini, associated with the movement, calling this issue an issue of all people, said that what is gone is gone, now it is in everyone’s interest to build the new Vidhansabha building in the middle of Haryana and not in Chandigarh. National leader of Arya Samaj Swami Nityananda said that this is the voice of justice of the three crore people of the state. President of the state’s Meham Chaubisi Panchayat Khap Subhash Nambardar said that if a new building is to be built, then it should be built in the middle of Haryana, this is justice. Leader of Haryana Road Samaj, who came from Kaithal, said that this issue should be passed unanimously in the Vidhansabha because it is an issue of everyone’s welfare and state interest.
