Bengaluru: Starbucks India has marked a significant milestone with the launch of its 50th store in Bengaluru, unveiling the city’s first-ever Drive-Thru at Electronic City. This expansion underscores the brand’s commitment to deepening its presence in one of its fastest-growing markets, reinforcing Bengaluru’s status as a coffee capital.
The new Drive-Thru is designed to provide the full Starbucks Third Place experience, integrating convenience with a community-inspired ambiance. The store’s aesthetic blends Bengaluru’s cutting-edge tech culture with its traditional coffee heritage, featuring a warm material palette, bilingual signage in English and Kannada, and curated artwork that enhances the inviting environment. Indoor and outdoor seating options encourage moments of connection, while the menu seamlessly combines premium Arabica coffee with beloved local flavors such as masala chai and filter coffee, catering to diverse customer preferences.
Since debuting in Bengaluru with its first store in Koramangala in 2013, Starbucks has become an integral part of the city’s coffee landscape. Its presence spans key locations, including the coffee-centric Vittal Mallya Road store, the Prestige Trade Tower store, and high-footfall hubs like Phoenix Marketcity and Kempegowda International Airport. With an unwavering commitment to innovation, TATA Starbucks is set to deepen its engagement with the local market through unique store formats, regional flavors, and customized customer experiences.
Further strengthening its foothold in Bengaluru, Starbucks will introduce an exclusive Reserve store later this year, offering customers a refined and immersive coffee experience. This move aligns with Starbucks’ strategy to expand its premium offerings and elevate India’s specialty coffee culture.
Beyond its expanding footprint, Starbucks India continues to prioritize people at the core of its growth strategy. The company currently employs over 600 partners (baristas) across its Bengaluru stores, including at three all-women stores and one signing store operated by specially-abled partners. The new Electronic City Drive-Thru will be staffed by a rotating team of 12 partners, ensuring high-quality service and reinforcing Starbucks’ dedication to fostering inclusive employment opportunities.
“Bengaluru has played a pivotal role in our India journey and remains a key market as we continue expanding our presence. The opening of our 50th store and our first Drive-Thru in the region exemplifies our commitment to accessibility and customer convenience. As we grow, our focus remains on offering experiences that are locally relevant while catering to evolving consumer preferences. We are deeply committed to this region and to strengthening our presence in a way that is sustainable, meaningful, and built for the long term,” said Sushant Dash, CEO of TATA Starbucks.
With this landmark expansion, Starbucks India reaffirms its commitment to bringing world-class coffee experiences to Indian consumers while staying true to the local ethos. As Bengaluru continues to thrive as a hub for coffee connoisseurs, Starbucks’ strategic investments in the city signal a new chapter of growth, innovation, and unparalleled customer engagement.
