Phulkari WOA 2026 unveiled the organization’s vision and initiatives for the year 2025–26

Amritsar, April 5– Phulkari – Women of Amritsar (WOA), the city’s largest and most dynamic women’s organization, was held today at Sarovar Premier, Circuit House, Amritsar. The event witnessed the presence of Phulkari WOA’s Managing Committee, Governing Body, past presidents, sponsors, patrons, and media representatives. It marked the official unveiling of the organization’s vision and initiatives for the year 2025–26.

The event began with the introduction of the newly elected President, Minakshi Khanna, a dynamic and visionary leader whose passion for service and strong sense of purpose are set to guide Phulkari into a powerful new chapter. With a reputation for empathy, resolve, and innovative thinking, Minakshi Khanna brings a refreshing wave of leadership that aims to strengthen community bonds, empower women, and encourage impactful philanthropy. She was joined by the Managing Committee for the year: Vice Presidents Kavita Kahlon and Vrinda Arora, Treasurers Ruby Batra and Saloni Podar, Secretaries Noopur Kapoor and Neeru Gupta, and Communication and PR Heads Snigdha Goel and Mina Singh. Together, they embody the spirit of legacy, love, and leadership that Phulkari is known for.

The organization also proudly introduced its partners for the year: Ace Vacations and Travels as the Gold Sponsor, Uppal Neuro Hospital (Health Partner) and Couture by KJ H as Silver Sponsors, Novelty Autos and EMC Hospitals (Health Partner) as Event Partners, Creative OOH and Red FM as Media Partners, and Taroob and Cheerbox by Digikaps as Gifting Partners. A major highlight of the interaction was the announcement of the first flagship event of the year – *Tealathon 2025*, a marathon dedicated to raising awareness about cervical cancer. Scheduled for April 13, 2025, the Tealathon will begin from Dussehra Ground, Ranjit Avenue, and will offer multiple participation options – 1 km, 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km – encouraging citizens of all age groups to take part. More than just a run, the Tealathon is a movement toward health education and proactive screening. With Dr. Amandeep of Amandeep Group of Hospitals and Cancer Centres of America (CCA) as the Health Sponsor, the event is poised to make a significant impact on public understanding of cervical cancer prevention. Gayatri Khanna, Conquer Cancer Program Head, delivered a compelling presentation on preventive measures, underscoring how early detection can save lives.

Minakshi Khanna, in her address, laid out a clear and inspiring vision for the year. As part of this vision, she announced an e-waste recycling collection drive planned for June, in observance of World Environment Day. She invited everyone present to join hands in making Phulkari a more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable community. Reinforcing Phulkari WOA’s core mission, she expressed her commitment to building platforms for learning, growth, and meaningful collaboration, while continuing to spotlight causes that truly matter.
