Ambala: There has been a twist in the fraud case of value worth Rs 500 crore, in which the anticipatory bail plea of prime accused Dharamveer has been rejected and the investigation of the case has been handed over to Cyber Crime Police Panchkula which was earlier was with the CIA-2 Ambala. The investors who lost money in this fraud are now waiting for the accused involved in the case to be arrested and their hard-earned money to be returned. In this fraud many people of Chandigarh including five states were cheated and the criminals are still roaming freely. According to information no recovery has been made in this case so far, although more than eight and a half months have passed since the case was registered.
Mahesh Nagar police station had registered a case against 18 persons: Sukhdev Singh, Puneet Dhiman, Satish Kashyap, Dharamvir Rana, Chirag Ahuja, Rajinder Kumar, Puneet Ahuja, Tarun Sahi, Rajkumar Rana, Madanpal Singh, Harpreet Pal Singh, Sanjeev Rana, Siraj Ahmed, Amdapi Singh, Abhishek, Sanjeev Sharma, Paramjit Singh, Amit on the complaint of Rakesh Saini, Sachin, Vipin Chauhan, Prince Kaushik and few others in this scam in which Sukhdev is suspected the main accused in this case in the name of investment offering heavy amount of interest on deposits, who managed to flee abroad.
According to complainants, a team of fifteen people was prepared by the investment firm, who used to give presentations mostly in the hotels of Panchkula. Not only this, to deceive people, team leaders were given diamond and gold rings during the seminars. The network of these fraudsters was spread in Haryana and adjoining Punjab, Himachal, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan states. Sources say that the fraudsters also purchased several properties from the money collected through fraud. According to information, the accused committed this fraud in the name of investment lured by these fraudsters with 6% profit or dividend per month and 72% annual return to the investors.
The team of the investment company used to go to different hotels to hold meetings and give presentations to people willing to invest through projectors. A team of fifteen people was prepared, who used to give presentations mostly in the hotels of Panchkula. Not only this, to deceive people, team leaders were given diamond and gold rings during the seminars. The network of these fraudsters was spread in Haryana, Punjab, Himachal, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan. Sources reveal that the fraudsters also bought property from the money collected through fraud. They had also created an app named ‘Stake It’, in which they used to create wallets and give them. However, no information was given on how to withdraw money from this app. Hundreds of people from Ambala itself as well as from other states invested money in this company, while now all these scoundrels are absconding after closing down their offices and the prime accused also absconding, suspected of leaving the country.
The investigation of this case was given to CIA 2 Police Ambala. Mahesh Nagar Police had registered a case on 20 July 2024. After this, some more complainants also came forward. In the last about eight and a half months, this case was investigated, but none of the accused was arrested. The anticipatory bail pleas of alleged accused were also rejected. by courts. Advocate from the complainant’s side said that the anticipatory bail of accused Dharamvir, a resident of Ambala, has been rejected by the court. The investigation of the case has been handed over from CIA-2 Ambala to Cyber Crime Cell Panchkula, which will investigate the case further. Cyber Crime Panchkula will submit its report to the High Court within two months.
