Multiple Security Equipment Arrive at Ambala for the new Domestic Airport: Anil Vij

It will first commence service to 4 major Indian cities Jammu, Ayodhya, Srinagar and Lucknow

Chandigarh: Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij said that multiple security equipments have arrived from Kolkata for the newly constructed domestic airport in Ambala Cantonment. These include under-vehicle search mirrors, explosive detectors, drug detection systems and other modern security equipments. It may be recalled that Flights from the Ambala Cantonment Domestic Airport are set to begin soon to Jammu, Ayodhya, Srinagar and Lucknow, offering air connectivity to a broad region and benefiting people not just in Ambala but also in neighboring states. Vij was inspecting the Domestic Airport at Ambala Cantonment, issued directions to Deputy Commissioner Ajay Tomar, Municipal Commissioner Sachin Gupta and other officers who were also present.

During his inspection of the airport, Anil Vij said that two X-ray machines have been installed for screening passenger luggage. One machine will be used for hand baggage, while the other will screen checked-in luggage. He also personally inspected the functioning of these machines. While on-site, Energy Minister Vij discussed the early deployment of staff at the airport with Deputy Commissioner Ajay Tomar and instructed him to coordinate with Central and State Aviation Ministries to expedite the staffing process.

Vij also directed that cleanliness be maintained across the airport premises, including toilets, waiting rooms, halls, parking and the outer areas. He issued further instructions to the Public Health Department’s Executive Engineer to ensure uninterrupted water supply at the airport and to resolve any issues promptly.Additionally, he tasked the PWD horticulture department with beautifying the open spaces around the airport by planting trees and maintaining greenery to make the area aesthetically appealing.

Cabinet Minister Anil Vij, whilke talking to media persons said that Ambala Domestic Airport is now fully developed and will soon commence operations. To initiate this flight service, Vij had earlier met with Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, after which the project gained momentum and necessary preparations were swiftly completed. The airport buildings are now fully constructed and security staff have been deployed on-site. During inspection, Vij was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Ajay Tomar, Municipal Commissioner Sachin Gupta, PWD Executive Engineer Ritesh Aggarwal and other senior officers.
