Surprisingly, it is merely  negligence with the lives of heart patients admitted in heart centres located inside the famous civil hospital Ambala Cantt, usually known as mini PGI at Ambala, running under the PPP policy in the district with the Badshah Khan Hospital of the industrial city Faridabad. It has come to light that instead of a cardiologist, a BAMS doctor treating patients in the heart center running in the district civil hospital of Ambala Cantonment. The truth came to light after a complaint was made by a Ambala city resident Vinay Walia on the CM window. Ambala’s District Medical Negligence Board has also clearly written this in the report. Vinay Walia’s brother Nigam Walia died during treatment at the Heart Centre. According to the report, the centre management is negligent in the case of Nigam Walia’s death. Director General of Health Dr. Kuldeep Singh a former CMO in the twin city hospitals has considered the matter very serious, considering it to be the centre’s negligence. Vinay Walia had taken his brother Nigam Walia to the city’s civil hospital on January 31 last year when his health deteriorated. The doctors there asked the patient to go to the heart centre of Ambala Cantonment. Vinay Walia said that he brought his brother to the heart center. His treatment was started in the center. He got suspicious after seeing the doctor present in the center, so he asked about when the cardiologist would come, the doctor present there treating the patient told himself to be a cardiologist. At that time, the fee for his brother’s angiography was deposited in the center, but the angiography was not done. Vinay complained that his brother died due to lack of proper treatment. After his complaint, an investigation was conducted by the Medical Negligence Medical Board of Ambala, the investigation report proved that instead of a cardiologist, a BAMS specialist was treating patients at the centre.
