Malout (Mukatsar) : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal said the Punjab Bachao Yatra was creating the ground for saving Punjab from looters in the name of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) who were using State funds to finance the spread of AAP across the country and had in the process bankrupted the State and destroyed its economy.
Participating in the Punjab Bachao Yatra which received a tumultuous response in Malout and Balluana constituencies, the SAD president appealed to Punjabis to join him in liberating the State from the looters of Delhi. “The time has come to reject AAP and send it packing back to Delhi and simultaneously bring in a pro-people and pro-poor government of the Shiromani Akali Dal which believes in all round development, peace and communal harmony”, the SAD president said while leading a cavalcade of vehicles stretching for kilometers across both constituencies.
At Malout all previous records of the Yatra were broken with thousands of people congregating to witness the Yatra and welcoming it with ‘siropas, sweets, dhols and firecrackers. More than a thousand tractors, cars and jeeps lined up the roads leading to Malout even as enthusiastic youth vied with each other to meet and greet the SAD president. All shop keepers also came out to shower the SAD president with flower petals.
In an emotional speech at Malout, Sukhbir Badal said “my mother Surinder Kaur ji was associated with Malout for decades. Not only did she manage election campaigns in this constituency but was also responsible for all round development of the constituency”. He lamented that civic amenities had been ignored for the last seven years in Malout during the previous Congress and now AAP governments. “I appeal to you to repose your faith in the SAD to bring back the era of speedy development and end the jungle raj of AAP”. He also appreciated former legislator Harpreet Singh and YAD Muktsar President Lappi Ennakhera for the excellent organization of the Malout leg of the Yatra.
