AAP protest march against higher electricity bills in Haryana, Ambala

Ambala: Electricity movement campaign of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gaining popularity all over in Haryana state, Padyatra taken out in 18 districts of Haryana. the electricity consumers in the state have raised a question whenthe  AAP government is providing free supply of electricity to the consumers in Delhi and Punjab, why the ruling BJP-JJP government is avoiding similar facilities to the consumers in Harya state. AAP workers expressed protest by burning expensive bills at the public places. AAP leaders promised to provide up to 300 units free supply of electricity to every consumers in case AAP comes to power in Haryana state in 2024 Vidhan Sabha polls. AAP workers took out a padyatra as part of the electricity movement campaign in all markets in twin city Ambala led by the former state minister Chaudhary Nirmal Singh  National Co-secretary of the party and Chitra Sarwara state vice president.

Under the Bijli Andolan Abhiyan, Padyatra was held in 18 districts in the state.  Aam Aadmi Party Senior Vice President Anurag Dhanda presided protest in Kurukshetra and Karnal, State Election Campaign Committee President Dr. Ashok Tanwar in Panipat, Rohtak and Jhajjar. The Aam Aadmi Party protested by burning the expensive bills of the Khattar government everywhere. Dr. Ashok Tanwar said that when the AAP government came to power in Delhi, the electricity bills of 80 percent and 90 percent houses in Punjab started coming to zero. He claimed that if the AAP government comes to power in Haryana too, the electricity bill will start coming to zero.

The AAP leader said that the ray of light that started from Delhi would illuminate both Haryana and the country in the times to come. When electricity bills can be waived off in Punjab and Delhi then why not in Haryana. In Punjab, electricity bill up to 600 units is zero, tubewell electricity is also being given free of cost and all outstanding bills have been waived off. In Haryana too, as soon as the AAP government comes, the electricity bills will come to zero. Chaudhary Nirmal Singh said that the government’s policy regarding electricity is clear, expensive electricity is being bought from Adani by closing its factories in the state. Today there is a demand of one lakh 63 thousand units and 7.5 lakh units are available with us, despite this, electricity bills of up to 50-50 thousand are being sent to the homes of the poor due to erratic policies of the management and privatization system in the state putting excessive financial burden on power consumers.

AAP leader Anurag Dhanda said that electricity is the biggest problem of Haryana. The people of the state are fed up with the high electricity bills. In the power minister’s own village, there are 6-6 hour cuts. The people of the state neither get full electricity nor do they get free electricity. The government is completely failing in the matter of electricity, he added that the BJP government works to make people fight.
